GREETINGS FROM TOMMY
B.,
I bake Chicago style
cheesecakes, cater small to large events and my specialty is gourmet
and down-home food. I love to cook and I’m also writing a book
titled "Sex and the Salad with a little undressing on the side"
by Tommy B. aka The Nutty Italian. Luciano Pavarotti said it best: “One
of the nicest things about life is the way we must stop whatever we
are doing and devote our attention to eating.”
My cookbook is a
delightfully funny and hopelessly romantic collection of the most colorful
recipe stories you'll ever read. The stories are based on original gourmet
cuisine creations and true-life experiences of Tommy B. & Friends.
I’m hoping to include cancer survivor stories and recipes, a local
politician and his recipe, the O’Jays (a 50’s R&B group)
and a few well-known restaurants and their prized recipes.
Canton is finally
embracing the Arts and by working with organizations such as the Cancer
Society, the Canton Artists, other local individuals, and restaurants
I hope to highlight the Arts and help rebuild Canton one connection
at a time.
My thought is to
combine this humorous collection of stories and recipes with sketches
by local artists on the back of each story. The drawing can be the artist’s
visualization of a particular story or any of their works, along with
a bio, and where they can be contacted. To quote one of my favorites,
George Bernard Shaw - “You use a glass mirror to see your face;
you use works of art to see your soul.”
I intend to use the
cookbook as a fundraiser to help support local causes and would include
the artists at any book signing or promotional event.
Attached is a sample
story and an insert from a friend of mine, Todd Blackledge. Todd is
a football analyst who hosts Todd’s Taste of the Town on ESPN
Saturday Night College Football.
